Maltesers opened children’s day center in Klaipėda

The first children’s day center for children with special needs was officially opened in Klaipėda.

The premises of the Children’s Day Center are located in the premises of the Litorina School. 17 children can spent their time in children’s day center.

“This is already the thirteenth children’s day centre, established by Maltesers care in Lithuania,” – said MOPT Secretary General Dalia Kedavičienė. – I wish that this number would be lucky. We are glad that this initiative was implemented by the active Maltesers of Klaipeda “.

Klaipėda mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas, who attended the opening ceremony, presented children’s day centre the boat and wished that it would symbolize continuous improvement and capture favorable wind.

Edita Andrijauskienė, Director of the Litorina School, was pleased with conditions for children’ ability to develop after the lessons.

“We are glad that children can have even more diverse activities, and the more we act, the more colorful the world will be,” said the director with gratitude.

Day centers of non-governmental organizations bring children into useful and interesting activities, help to broaden their horizons, adopt in society, provide them with the opportunity to prepare their homeworks, and, if necessary, consult with psychologists and social pedagogues.

Children with special needs need help in preparing their homeworks, consolidating their knowledge they have obtained during the lessons.
