The President congratulated the Order of Malta on the Feast of St. John the Baptist

President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, Grand Master of the Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta on the Feast of St. John the Baptist.

According to the President, the devoted work of the Order of Malta and the great contribution by the Order and its supporters is highly important and valued. Turning to the weakest, most vulnerable, disadvantaged or deprived members of our society and taking care of them is very much needed. The support provided by the Order does not only help these people, but also promotes very important values of mutual understanding, compassion, solidarity and volunteering in societies, especially among young people.

The President wished that the Order always had friends and supporters in Lithuania and Europe, and in all parts of the world, where it operated, aimed to help and carried out a broad social and humanitarian mission.

The President also wished members of the Order a never-ending belief in their calling, as well as inspiration and energy in pursuing their meaningful activities.
