Welcoming of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Lithuania

On October 3rd, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Lithuania, Dr. Count Christoph Calice. The President of the Order of Malta Relief Organization in Lithuania, Bronius Einars, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Order’s activities in Lithuania were discussed, and both parties expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of social and healthcare programs in the country. The importance of continued support for Ukraine was also emphasized.
From 2010 to 2018, Christoph Calice, of Austrian descent, served as the Delegate of the Vienna Delegation. From 2013 to 2020, he was the Receiver of the Common Treasure of the Grand Priory of Austria. In 2014, he took the vow of obedience. He also participated in pilgrimages to the Holy Land (2018), Rome (2022), and Lourdes (2023). Since 2021, he has served as the Deputy Head of Malteser Hospitaldienst Austria (MHDA).
On October 4th at 3 PM, a welcoming meeting for the new Ambassador was held, attended by the Vice President of the Order of Malta Relief Organization in Lithuania, Artūras Jonkus, the Secretary General Edvinas Regelskis, and other representatives. During the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador, the ongoing activities of the Order in Lithuania, emerging challenges, ways to support Ukraine, and future cooperation between the Order’s Embassy and the Relief Organization were discussed.
