Statehood Day Awards: Maltesers Rewarded for Their Work

Statehood Day, celebrated on July 6th, saw the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, honoring distinguished individuals with state awards for their services to Lithuania and their efforts in promoting Lithuania’s reputation worldwide.

The President emphasized that “Lithuanias strength lies not only in its equal membership in the world’s most important and influential unions. We are fortunate because Lithuania is strong in its civil society. Through it, we can confidently build a life of dignity, personal freedom, and responsibility for ourselves and our children in our cherished homeland. We can undertake courageous endeavors that will not only transform our nation but also impact the world. We can turn incredible dreams into reality.” He further stated that “citizens who unite in various initiatives or achieve remarkable feats within their respective areas of responsibility are the builders of our nation today, shaping history.”

Marija Miliauskienė, the Head of the Marijampolė Group of the Order of Malta Relief Organization in Lithuania, received the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas in recognition of her longstanding efforts in providing assistance to the most vulnerable people and ensuring their dignity.

H. E. Manfred Ritter Mautner von Markhof, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Order of Malta to Lithuania, was awarded the Cross of the Knight of the Order for Merits to Lithuania for his philanthropic activities and his significant contributions to socially impactful support projects implemented in Lithuania.
